The Women & Infants Nursing Scholars program provides nursing students the opportunity to secure employment at Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island, with the added bonus of educational loan sponsorship, prior to graduation.
Through this program, Women & Infants provides you up to $45,000 in monthly repayment towards your student loans in exchange for a three year, full-time work commitment at Women & Infants Hospital upon graduation and licensure.

Applications are reviewed regularly and are intended to be simple and streamlined. Advisors are available to answer questions and offer support at each step along the way.

Women & Infants Sponsors Your Education
If you are accepted and commit to Women & Infants Nursing Scholars, Women & Infants will repay up to $45,000 of your student loan debt over the course of a three-year work commitment.

Launch Your Career at Women & Infants
Secure early employment and opportunities to connect with your future employer and colleagues. If plans change and you don’t complete your work commitment, you will not be required to repay any funding already received.
Who’s Eligible
You must meet the following criteria:
- Be accepted to or already enrolled in an accredited nursing degree program at a participating college or university
- Be in good academic standing with a GPA of at least 2.3
- Be a United States Citizen, Permanent Resident, or with residency under DACA or TPS programs
- Be at least 18 years old

- Unofficial transcript

Additional Application & Program Details
Your salary and benefits will be competitive and on par with your peers. They will not be affected by participation in the program, as this is meant to be an added benefit. To find out more about sign-on or relocation bonus eligibility, you may request information or start an application and an advisor will be in touch.
You can voluntarily choose to leave the program at any time. If you do so before completing your work commitment, you forfeit any further loan repayments made by the health system but are not required to reimburse any payments already made on your behalf.
Similarly, if you involuntarily leave the program at any time by violating the terms of your employment, you forfeit any further loan repayments made on your behalf.
You may be subject to income tax for some or all of the loan payments made by the Nursing Scholars Program on your behalf. You should consult with a tax professional if you have any questions regarding the tax implications of the Nursing Scholars Program.
